Owing to the Coronavirus Covid 19 situation and the uncertainty it poses, we regretfully announce the cancellation of this event. Under the circumstances and taking onboard the Government's updated advice, we feel it is the only correct and ethical thing to do. The health, safety and welfare of our runners, volunteers and supporters is our utmost priority.

Rodbaston Hall is the perfect location of our annual 10K Cross Country Event. A favoured location of The North Staffs Cross Country League. Rolling fields, woodlands, trails and a few shallow stream crossings to liven things up - we highly recommend trail shoes!

A magnificent 180 hectare country estate. The original Rodbaston Hall dates back to the early 1800s where it was the grand centrepiece of a family estate built by William Holland Esquire.

Fundraising For Police Cadets

This charity funded scheme helps youngsters be self-confident, benefit academically and help local communities. Fundraising buckets are on site and donations on the day will be greatfully appreciated (they receive no financial support from Staffordshire Police whatsoever). The Codsall Unit work extra hard mashalling on event day so dig deep and show your appreciation!

Rodbaston Hall, Rodbaston Drive, Penkridge, Staffordshire, ST19 5PH - Free Parking.

*Must use the Rodbaston Drive entrance only - Do not use the Animal Zone / Visitors Centre entrance*

Start Time:

Race starts at 11.00am - 2020 cancelled due to Covid19 - (Registration open at 9am).


Please arrive ready to race as there are no changing facilities on site.


These are provided at the onsite cafe. 


Please Note - 10K ish! - Due to livestock / boundary movements there can be slight alterations each year, but the distance won't be short (can be over). Multi terrain. Trail shoes are recommended on this fun enjoyable course, expect uneven ground, tarmac, grass, trail, tracks, stiles, paths, water (yes water, it's not deep!) and sometimes a small horse jump or two. (Nothing extreme - this isn't an OCR! As long as you can easily climb a countryside stile you'll be fine).

Drinks Station:

Water station approx halfway around the course.



All race numbers / chips are collected on race morning (not sent out in the post). Registration opens at 9am. Please fill in the reverse of your number with any medical details we need to know about. 



Online at only (£17.50) - Entry link near top of this page (this includes all admin & processing fees, you WILL NOT be charged any more at checkout!) This event sells out annually. Should there be any spare places, they will be sold on the day on a first come first served basis for £25 cash. (Minimum age for participants is now 13yrs.)

Refreshments & Food:

The Foster Centre onsite cafe is also the registration area. Serving hot Costa coffee and a selection of food and snacks. This will be the centre of our race where friends and family can relax while you're out earning your medal.

Race Medal:

A custom made Rodbaston medal will be given to each runner for crossing the finish line.

Transfer Policy:

All entries are non-refundable. The staging of events have to be booked and paid for many months in advance. We are however pleased to offer a transfer service. We can swap your place to a friend / relative / team mate etc but you must handle any reimbursment of funds direct with that person, WE ONLY SWAP THE RUNNERS ENTRY DETAILS OVER.

*To transfer your place - Although a simple process, this can ONLY be done on race day morning at the registration area.

There is a £1 admin fee payable in cash. You do not need attend, but your replacement MUST arrive at registration BEFORE 10AM and once signed in, we shall complete the transfer.

*This transfer service is not compatible with strangers off the race waiting list, nor can entries be deferred to another year / or any other event*


First Aid / Health & Safety:

You should be relatively fit, be able to run / jog most of the route and have no known medical conditions which would hinder your run or cause the race organiser concern. Medical support will be present on the day. You are reminded not to run if you feel ill or have a cold or flu on race day as this can be extremely dangerous. Do not take part if you have any respiratory illness or recent medical condition.

*If it becomes apparent to the sweep runners that you are in difficulty, ill, or are only able to compete by walking the route, then you are likely to be asked to retire from the race, remove your race number and make your way back to the start area at your own risk. This may sound harsh but it is for your own health & safety. No refund will be given under these circumstances.
